"In my younger and more vulnerable years, my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since. 'Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,' he told me, 'Just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.'"
F. Scott Fitzgerald
"The Great Gatsby"
I think I'm going to get that tatooed on my arm so I can do a better job of remembering it. On the other hand, that's an awful lot of words and I bet it would hurt. So maybe I'll just settle for "Shut Up" as a reminder to myself.

Good book. Good quote. Bad tattoo... but good idea. Sort of.

man, i always forget how much i love that book! i need to pull it off the shelf and read it again.
i've thought of a tattoo before. not quite so many words, but something. i think the pain scares me off, but the rebel inside of me thinks it would be cool. ;)

Ha! Maybe getting tattoos can be our rebellious activity at this year's Horn Creek Reunion tour, CT. On the other hand, I am way more likely to chicken out than you. I am a big old wimp about pain. Hannah, I am glad to know that you have read the Great Gatsby. I grant you the privilege of being my little sister for another year. I know you are ecstatic. :)

Ah, yes, the future husband's concerns should probably be taken into consideration. I suppose these are the sacrifices we make as married women. :) A life of no tattoos.

Thought that you would like to know that I am reading this book right now since Sam stole the book you gave me for my birthday! Haven't read it in years!

Yayy! A Great Gatsby convert! You are going to love it, I bet. It's just so well-written. I hope you enjoy it. And make Sam give you back To Kill a Mockingbird one of these days. :)
