Wednesday afternoon

Just a quick note: thank you all for your prayers. Aaron is resting comfortably right now after being given a shot of something to help him sleep. Dad said he slept a little last night, but he really has only had a few hours of real sleep since he came out of sedation on Monday evening. He was sedated for three days, but that's not the same thing as restful sleep and with as many time zones as he's been through recently, he is probably having trouble getting on a regular sleep schedule. Hopefully he can wake up well-rested and that will help him get adjusted.
In another interesting note, apparently the Secretary of the Navy came to see Aaron last night and gave him "some sort of medal." I think it's hilarious that we're really not sure what kind of a medal this very high-ranking military official gave Aaron, but this is the kind of thing that gets lost in the shuffle right now. All I know is that it wasn't the Purple Heart, although Aaron will get one of those too at some point. And then we will all have to refer to him as "Aaron Rice, the decorated war veteran." He'll get a kick out of that.
Thanks for all your emails and encouragement and prayers. Keep them coming.

Haley,
Isn't the internet neat. Thanks for keeping all of us up to date. Tommy and I are both praying fervently for each of you. We especially remember your Mother and Daddy and Kelly and will pray for wisdom for them but we also remember each of you siblings who have to stay behind. That is very hard.

Let us know if ther is anything we can do.

Prayerfully,
Linda Peaster

Thank you so much for the updates. I'm at a loss for words to express my concern and gratitude for someone like Aaron. Please tell him that his brothers in arms appreciate and understand his sacrifices and can't comunicate enough the gratitude we have for someone like him. Thank you for your sacrifice and strength. thank you also for keeping us updated on his progress and very specific ways in which we can pray for y'all. - stephen

Aunt Emily:

Hi Haley,
Thanks for keeping us posted. You are doing such a good job of it. This way we won't have to bother your folks with phone calls. Please let them know we're with them in thought, prayer and spirit. Where are Hannah and Audrey staying? Please tell everyone hello for me.
I Love you,
Aunt Emily

Ron White:

Haley,

We are keeping constant track of Aaron's progress through your updates. No one could do that better than you. I once "saved" Aaron from a swarm of bumble bees when you guys lived next door. The only thing I can do for him now is send up a "swarm" of prayers. God bless and keep each of you through this dark providence.

Fred White:

Haley,

Thanks so much for keeping us posted. Beverly and I have shed our tears over this unfortunate turn of events. I know Aaron will some day find God's will in this. Decorated and "disabled" war vets make great politicians. Aaron for President!

We love the Rice family and feel fortunate to have such wonderful neighbors.
