Monday afternoon.

Well, Aaron has escaped from National Naval Medical Center. Mom said he checked out this morning and will be considered an outpatient until he begins his rehabilitation. He and Kelly are not in the apartment-style housing they hope to be considered for during Aaron's time at Walter Reed, but are staying in a handicapped-accesible room in the hotel style place that Kelly and Mom have been staying in. Aaron will have his first appointment at Walter Reed on Wednesday morning before he leaves to attend Ryan's graduation, and will probably have his first true day of rehabilitation a week from today.
Mom said that when Aaron was checking out, he was given a good evaluation, but in that report the nurse said that Aaron has tissue damage in two places on his right knee instead of just one as we previously thought. He has to wear a brace on it when he uses crutches right now, but as far as we understand, it will require surgery sometime soon. We haven't really heard the whole story on what the damage is yet, so please pray that Aaron and Kelly can talk to someone and get a clear pictures of what kind of surgery he's looking at for that and how long it will take to make that knee fully functional.
More tonight.

Clint Wilcke:

Dear Aaron,
We rejoice in Christ Jesus as a family for the preservation of your life. The Wilckes spoke of you and prayed for you in our family worship. They (my boys) too might have the privilege to serve as you have for our country and its freedom one day. You and Kelly look great and the pictures are great. Saw your Dad in church yesterday, wanted to know what was happening, but snuck out on me. This site is a great help (Hailey) to us and your famiy. It seems like the other day when you, Kelly, and Ryan came to RUF at Southern and summer conference. The Lord has been merciful to us all by keeping you alive by His sovereign loving grace. In your loss of a leg may Christ be your hope and steafast assurance that grace has brought you safe thus far and grace will lead you home. Much love to the RIces and especially to you Aaron and Kelly. Please let us know of specific prayer requests. For the RUF students at USM have been praying for you and will continue.

Grace and Peace in Jesus,

Clint and Kathy Wilcke the rest of the Crew, Kendall, Caleb, Robert, Benjamin, and Zachary

C3C Ryan Rayborn:

Aaron,

It was great to hear that your trip to D.c. went well. I've been telling folks up here about "Superman Rice" who spends countless hours outside his hospital room because he is too stubborn to take a break! I know its not in your character and all, but if I had Kelly and your mom at my disposal I would be milking it for all that it was worth! What a blessing it was to see your "studley, too cool for school" DC pictures! You seem to be doing really well, which means that God has definitely heard the prayers of so many! I know your rehab is coming up soon, so I thought that I would offer you a very "to the point" passage of Scripture that you can use to strengthen yourself during those difficult times. I challenge you to pray this over yourself and have others pray it over you, and God will surely bring it to pass. "Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, 'Be strong, do not fear!'" (Isaiah 35:3-4). Again, please know that I lift your name before the Lord often (your mom, Kelly, and Haley too) and I hope to see you sometime soon! In the meantime, keep the faith and Hoo-Rah!!!! (I hope you dont mind an AF guy saying that).

In Him,

Ryan

Andrea:

/aaron and kelly,
We are keeping up with you on Haley's blog too!
So thankful that you are doing so well and what an encouragement your letters and comments have been to us. So glad that you will be at Ryan's graduation as the whole fam. that will be a great boost to him. Be sure that you post some pics of that and your twin for us to see also.
We have been praying since we first heard and only now am I fuguring out that we can comment right to the website. Oh well, we didn't have computer when your Mom and I were in school. We are a little slower but trying to learn.
We love you all and send on-line hugs to the two of you and your Mom. Have a great weekend and our love to Ryan as well. Psalm 56 -Andrea Jussely

Andy:

Before I start saying anything good, I just wanted to say that I don't think your red marine t-shirt makes you look sexy, I don't know what it makes you look like, butt it is definately not sexy. Now that I got that off my chest, I am glad everything is going well. I know you enjoyed your trip to the memorials, I know it has a different meaning now. I know yiou will enjoy your trip to see Ryan, I know he will. Well I just found out that I could write you on the website, you know how hi-tech I am. Well I better go to work now so I can keep paying Kelly's phone bills, I sure am glad she is with you now, just think only 50 more years with her, I wish you luck, I had her for 20 years and that is why I have all this gray hair. Love you and will see you soon. Pops

matt morris:

Aaron,
Keep it up your the man. Rehab is tough I will let you know. I have not been in it for same reason as you but it will be tough. The only advice i can give you is LISTEN TO THE THERAPIST. He/she will know the right amount for you to work with dont push to hard like i know you want to and hurt yourself. Dont forget to let us know when Ryan is on leave so we can plan what we do best, JAIL BREAK.

Love
MAtt

Alex Sherling:

Aaron and Kelly,

Well... Kelly, I've never met you, and Aaron its been a really long time, but I wanted to tell ya'll that I'm praying for ya'll. I've been reading Haley's blog, and I've been encouraged by both of your spirits. When I was reading Haley's I was reminded of one of my favorite poems....

Johnnie Sayre

Father, thou canst never know
The anguish that smote my heart
For my disobedience, the moment I felt
The remorseless wheel of the engine
Sink into the crying flesh of my leg.
As they carried me to the home of widow Morris
I could see the school-house in the valley
To which I played truant to steal rides upon the trains.
I prayed to live until I could ask your forgiveness—
From the solace of that hour I have gained infinite happiness.
Thou wert wise to chisel for me:
"Taken from the evil to come."

Edgar Lee Masters

Jon Kane:

Hey Aaron,
It's good to see you able to get around so much, just try to allow Kelly and your mom to get some rest. And, what were you thinking about the red marine shirt and being sexy????? C'mon man, you can do better than that! You're still in my prayers, and Chami's. Continue to get better, and we will see you soon. Tell Ryan that we (the youth) have been praying for him as well, and we are all proud of both of you, and just want to say thanks.

Jon Kane

Lucille Lindsay:

Dear Aaron, As you begin your rehab I'm sure you know and feel the love and prayers extended to you by all your family and friends. Please count me in with all the rest who wish you strength during these intense sessions. You have demonstrated courage beyond measure already so I know your desire, perseverance and trust in God will see you through to a quick and successful rehabilitation. Love to you and Kelly. Lucille Lindsay
