Prediction time.

Alright, folks. It's time to place your bets on what day you think Baby Kate will make her appearance. A few things you might want to take into consideration when making your predictions: She is due in nine days, on September 3, which is Labor Day. Yes, have a good laugh at that one. But, of course, only a few babies are actually born on their due dates, and if family history matters, it's worth noting that the women on my mom's side of the family, and my mom herself, went into labor before their due dates. One date that is already popular is August 27, this Monday. This is the date that both my mom and grandmother have settled on because it is a full moon, and as labor and delivery nurses will tell you, a lot of women seem to go into labor around then. But my mother-in-law, meanwhile, is rooting for August 31, because it is her birthday, and she has apparently decided that the average birthday gift is just not going to cut it this year. She must have a grandbaby instead. Dan has decided that August 30 must be the day that Eliana was referring to when she made her prediction, because she says it will be rainy and cold, and the predicted weather for that day is possible storms and a high temperature of 81, which is cold for this time of year. But he hasn't made a choice of his own yet.

As for the contest rules, I think it's fine if people want to pick a day that someone else has already chosen, because there will be no prizes, so it's not going to cost me anything if more than one of you are right. But you will have bragging rights. So with all of that information at your disposal, go to it. Try to be kind with your post-due-date guesses, because I am really starting to get tired of being pregnant, and if you suggest that this baby isn't coming until September 14 or something, I might get depressed. And if you're right, I might have to hurt you later.

I predict you go into labor on the 3rd, but don't deliver till the 4th. But I have no reason for this predictions. :)

tim:

Kristin says the first Wachdorf will be born on the first. I, on the other hand, know that the prophetess Eliana has never been wrong before with her birth predictions, and so say it will be Thursday!

I, too, say the 4th. It's Grant's birthday.

Aunt Emily:

I vote for Sept 1st and probably late at night?! I'm wishing you an easy delivery while I am at it! Remember...BREATH...!

Kate :):

i'm going to guess, especially given your fun last night, that it will be sometime soon. since monday is the start of my new adventure, i'm going to guess it will also be the start of yours. :) might as well start new chapters at the same time. hope you're all doing okay! miss you.

Audrey:

I think that you will go into labor late tuesday night and you will have little Kate wednesday the 29th in the early evening... I was going to say like 11 pm but I wouldn't want to wish that on you. I love you! Give Kate a big kiss for me when she gets here. And go ahead and tell her I'm the best. Ever. :)

I'm going to guess Aug. 29th, so Kate and Katrina can celebrate their birthdays together...

I thought Kate would arrive over the weekend and I wouldn't get to guess. I'll guess that she'll arrive on the 29th, just because I don't think she'll wait until the end of the week.

RT:

Just to go way out on a limb, and not that I'm wishing this for you, but August 6. (However, it truly sounds like Kate will be here sooner than later!) Prediction: 20.5 inches long, 7lb 8oz, dark hair.

Aaron Rice:

Haley,

I know your kinda ready to get that kid out of you and all, but... would ya mind waiting until September 17th? It's only two weeks after your due date, and then Ryan, myself, and Kate would all share a birthday.

If not, I'm betting on September 1st. We should at least share our birth month.

Lately, Eliana has been answering the question, "When will baby Kate be born?" with the honest, "I don't know." When pressed, she says, "In 5 days!" no matter what day I ask her. So, I finally got around to showing her a calendar. She quickly decided upon Saturday, September 8, so there you have it!

I'll be a little bit nicer and guess September 4 because "Tuesday's child is full of grace" and we all know that is certain to be true of Kate, given that she's a true Southener. ;)

Megan:

Wow! Eliana was right on. Amazing!
