My sister Audrey, who is visiting us this week, was kind enough to bring me a picture of the aforementioned golden cow that you can see along Highway 49 South between Jackson and Hattiesburg, Mississippi. If I ever write a book, I think this will have to be the cover.

I can imagine the hours of photoshopping fun that could be had with that picture.

That is an amazing color of yellow for a bull. In your previous post you referred to the statue as a "bucking bronco." I think I lived on a farm long enough to know that the statue is in fact not a horse. Nit picky, sure, but I'm one day past a conference paper submission.

No, Tim, you're right! I realized that later and meant to fix it. Of course, I am going to need to get my facts straight if I'm going to be in charge of continued renditions of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" around here. Cow vs. Horse is a very important distinction!

I hadn't even thought about Old MacDonald, Haley. Don't sweat that too much though. When you mess it up Kate will give you that wonderful, "Oh great, mama's already lost her mind today!" look and set you straight. Princess Ana's current version of this is to throw a hand out in front of her and demand, "No, daddy, stop!" That usually gets the wrinkles worked out on the barn yard.
