Hat!

Kate recently started signing the word "hat." She learned it on her baby signing video, but we thought it was odd that she honed in on it, since she doesn't often wear a hat. But at any rate, after a few days of her incessantly signing "hat," Dan decided to get her a hat, which I was OK with as long as it was a warm winter hat. She needs one anyway. He did a pretty good job, and came home with what has to be the warmest and most comical hat Target had to offer, complete with a pom pom on the top. Kate is in love with it and laughs every time she catches a reflection of herself wearing it.

If you notice, the front of my oven has drool streaks on it. This is because Kate likes to give her hat-wearing reflection big slobbery kisses. And because I have given up cleaning them off more than once a week.

I like how her ensemble here includes a soup ladle. It's good to have one of those handy.

Hahaha! That's hilarious! :o) She's adorable! I tried some warm winter Target hats on my little girl the other day since we'll be in northern Michigan for Christmas, and they were all too big. :-(( There was, however, one that had little ears on it! I almost bought it in the hopes that she'll grow into it by Christmas!

That is so cute! Everyone needs a soup ladel too.

Crissie :

I love the soup ladle. Taylor loves the collander and the whisk. Both quite fun in the bathtub. She is adorable.

katharine Savage:

so cute! what video is this? maybe I will try it next time instead of the traditional "mom go crazy repeating one sign over and over"

That is one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

RT:

Ladles must be popular with the one year old crowd. Another little friend was photographed in his Halloween costume, with the ladle.

Kate, you are too precious.

Hannah:

Sorry I started ignoring you on facebook chat- I got distracted by your blog. I'm all caught up now, so I'll call you this weekend unless you make a post before then, in which case I may ignore your phone call because I'm too busy catching up with you. Kiss your baby for me.

Aaron:

I think she's striking a pose in the last picture. You better watch out, Haley. You might have a future Ms. New Mexico on your hands. I know you would just love that.

Ryan left me a voicemail last week. He said to tell you that he read your blog and he is excited that Kate is walking. Kate's fan club has now gone global.

Aaron

Haley:

Aaron, now that you mention it, that ladle could pass for a scepter of some sort. I will keep an eye on that. I have no aspirations to be a stage mom.

Thanks for passing on the message from Ryan! I was so hoping he would get a chance to check in and get updated on Kate. I'll tell her about the Iraq branch of the fan club. :)
