On the eve of Kate's third birthday, I share with you this video taken this weekend while Dan, Kate and Dan's Mom, also known as Grammy, baked cookies. To my child all occasions present a perfect opportunity to burst into original song, complete with dramatic hand motions. That is why I think of this as the quintessential Kate video. Enjoy.

I feel like she didn't get that from you. ;-)

With Kate's belief that God has a wife and Jeremiah's claim that "Jesus needs discipline," I think we're raising some excellent theologians!

Hahahaha... I love how it ends abruptly with Kate almost falling off the stool because she's so caught up in her performance.

Hahahaha this is AMAZING. What is your interpretation of what she's saying? All I caught is that she does in fact seem to be singing about God's wife...

This is making me miss you guys SO much. Heidi is really into singing everything too instead of saying it. Happy birthday, Kate!

Happy Birthday, Kate!! I can't believe that she is already 3. I loved the video. Her and Jeremiah need to get together soon. He loves to randomly break into song. We went to Target the other day and he was loudly singing the Doxology, The Lord's Army and Zaccheus the entire time. It was great!
We love you guys! I hope Kate has a great birthday!!
Love,
Hannah and the boys

I thought she was singing about His life! My daughter used to pronounce her Rs and Ls both as W. She once had a toy that she said she found in the gwass. I freaked out for an instant because I was imagining that she had found broken glass and had been fingering through it. But it was only grass, not glass.
